Howard Wallace Masters Shield

Post by Sherco Qld »

After hearing about Howard's fight against motor neuron disease. I would like to invite the trials community that cant make it to the trial to fill in a entry form and donate a entry fee to a very worthwile cause.

To help the organisers, i suggest to note "DNS" (did not start) on the entry form.

My thoughts and wishes are with Howard and his family throuth this difficult time.

Im sorry that I cant be there.

(Could someone please attatch the entry form)

TRIALS CLUB OF CANBERRA FUNDRAISING TRIAL

As many in the Australian Trials Community are already aware, one of our members has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. MND has no cure. Howard’s been a trials mate for more than thirty years, and TCC is taking the opportunity to run this Open Trial as a fundraiser for his family. We are also conducting a fundraising raffle. Every cent we make at this event will be paid into the bank account of our little mate.

PLEASE NOTE

WE NEED YOUR ENTRIES BY MONDAY APRIL 21st. This means YOU will need to post / email yours much earlier than you usually do.

We are getting a souvenir program together, so we need your information early. Those of you who have ridden TCC Open Trials will know that our score sheets take a while to put together. This is another reason why ‘Late” entries are not appreciated.

(Please send your Entry in today. If you cannot make it to the Trial, for any reason, we will “cancel” your Entry and refund your monies, providing you contact us by Wednesday April 23rd.)

The Trial will be ROUND ONE OF THE 2008 NSW MOTO TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. In the grand scheme of things this may be important, but nothing like as important as you all coming along to enjoy yourselves, and to let Howard know what a great little mate he is.

The Entry Fees for this Trial are $10 dearer than our previous Open Trials. This is part of the fundraising. Each entry will receive one ticket in the fundraising raffle. Entry Fees in excess of those listed will be at your discretion, but will be greatly appreciated.

The SEVENTH WOMENS CUP, again sponsored by Sherco Australia, will be a feature of this Trial. Once again, we are hoping to have the majority of Australia’s women Trials riders in attendance.

THE TENTH HOWARD WALLACE MASTERS SHIELD.
We’ve renamed the Masters Shield as the Howard Wallace Masters Shield in recognition of Howard's support of the concept since Day One. The Masters class will ride B grade, and we will set the B Grade line so that any older B graders won’t have to drop back to Veterans. (Those of you who are asking “What about the last couple of TCC Opens ?”, take heart, Mick and I have taken your comments on board).

THE 2008 NSW MOTO TRIAL SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP.
The Board of MNSW have approved a minimum of three starters to qualify this event as a legitimate, one off, Sidecar State Title. We will set the Sidecar lines on the basis of which teams enter. If any new teams enter there will be sections that they can ‘clean’. Likewise there will be sections that will demonstrate just how brilliant our top teams are. There are many Trials riders who don’t know that Trials sidecars exist, so we can only imagine how the outfits are going to amaze the spectators.

ACCOMMDATION
Nimmitabel is 30 minutes drive from Cooma, or about one and a half hours south of Canberra. There is limited accommodation in Nimmitabel, but a multitude of accommodation of all standards in Cooma. There is also the opportunity to camp at the Kydra River venue. Anyone who’s ridden there before will attest to just what an excellent Trials venue Kydra River is. Sadly, this will almost certainly be our last opportunity to run a Trial at the property, so don’t miss out.

OBSERVERS
If any of you can bring someone to help with Observing, we’d love to hear from you. We are expecting a reasonable Entry, so it will help the efficient running of the day if we can get two Observers per section.

Please contact Trevor Bennett at [email protected] or by phone at home 02 6292 3140, or 0406 375 676 for further information.
