MTCQ,s "TY CHALLENGE"

Post by Don Duck »

The Motorcycle Trials Club of Queensland (MTCQ) will be running a “TY Challenge” Interclub trial on July 12, 2009.
The intention of this event is aimed at celebrating the Yamaha “TY” range of Trials bikes which helped change the face of Trials in Australia and around the world when first introduced in the early 70’s, and again in the 80’s with the first mono-shocks.

The event is open to the whole range of TY’s in all capacities and classes and include both the older twin-shock models and the more modern mono-shock bikes.

This will be the Inaugural “TY Challenge” event for MTCQ, which is planned to become an annual event, in conjunction with our July Interclub observed trial.

There must be hundreds of TY’s hidden and buried in the back sheds around the country side,
We’d like to see them all dragged out, dusted off, and ridden the way they were meant to be!

This event will be run at our Undullah Rd property, 20 minutes from Jimboomba, Qld. on 12th July 2009.

A one day competition licence is available (conditions apply) And Competition entry is via the supplementary regulations and entry form available on line shortly.

We've got some uniquely "TY" awards for the class winners! And a perpetual "TY" trophy for the "TY" Champion! :thumb:

See you all there!

Cheers

OK I'm now thinking about the TY Challenge Trial planned for 25th July 2010 by the Motorcycle Trials Club of Queensland and wondering what to ride.
One idea was to ride my TY250A and put out a challenge to see how many of them we can get together in one spot at the Trial - you never know we may get quite a few and that would be great to see. There certainly were a lot around in 1974!!!

Any takers? Hagsta? Greg Harding?

If the idea looks likely to come off I will probably ride mine at Brooweena (earlier in July) to get used to riding it.

Well the "TY Challenge" is nearly upon us again (July 25th) and I'm pleased to advise that YES, once again we have some uniquely "TY" awards for the highest placed TY's in each class/grade.

Dont forget there'll also be an award for the "Best Presented TY" The hard part maybe finding an unbiased judge! lol.

What's everyones thoughts on having a Best "RAT" Ty award ?? #-o

Hi Everyone,

Don, I am really looking forward to the TY Challenge and have told David that I will be riding the yellow submarine on the "C" grade line. Just a thought how good it would be to have uniquely TY Challenge stickers to put on our bikes??? Realising there is limited time and you are busy with the trials week, PA from SA did an excellent job designing the name plates for the 07 Masters Games (I still have mine) very creative and it seems he has done a great job with the Aussie Titles Entry Form. Perhaps he would like to do it? What do you think?

Thank you

I just heard tonight that they're nearly ready and should be published here in the next day or two.

Which one were you planning on riding? The A, The Majesty, or something else?

I'll be there with my little orange beasty. I'm looking forward to it.
